Actor Harripriya says she is enjoying every moment of shooting for her ongoing project 'Kanaka', opposite 'Duniya' Vijay, because most of it is being shot in villages in and around Srirangapatna.
"I love everything about the village. The simplicity of villagers, their food and warmth is what beckons me to the rustic settings. Also, I am overwhelmed by the love that the villagers shower on us when we are shooting there. There is so much innocence in the way they go about their work," says Harripriya.
While Harripriya plays a character that goes by name of Sampige in the film, 'Duniya' Vijay takes the title name Kanaka. "There's a twist in the tale and why Vijay is called Kanaka will be revealed only towards the end of the film. I play a village girl and everything, right from my body language, costume and expression, has undergone a huge makeover. I enjoy every moment because it is not always that I get to play a character that is so simple yet complicated to portray," she says.
The actor says the experience of shooting in the village for the last few days has been memorable because she gets a chance to interact with the locals and even eat the local cuisine.
"The rural ambience has helped me get under the skin of the character. Also, living in the village and breathing the fresh air has added to the charm of shooting in these places," she says.
This is also the first time that Harripriya will be seen opposite Duniya Vijay.
The actor is thrilled that all the projects that she is working on in Kannada have her playing very contrasting roles. "None of my characters are similar and this why I think that this is an interesting phase in my career. I get to work on so many projects but play a different character in each," she says.
